Can I start with only a photo?
Yes. A photo can start the discussion, especially for structure and color direction. For accurate matching, a physical yarn or fabric sample is better.
Do I need to know the yarn count?
Not always. Gauge, garment use, fabric photo and hand feel target can help us suggest a suitable count.
Can you develop yarn from my original sample?
In many cases yes. We can review structure, material, count, hand feel and color direction, then suggest a matching or similar development route.

Yarn Count and Gauge Check

Brushed Yarn Sample Request Details
If you need brushed yarn samples for sweaters, knitted jackets or scarves, please include the key information below. This helps us check whether stock yarn, existing color yarn or custom development is more suitable.

Most brushed yarn is developed as yarn-dyed finished yarn. Because multi-fiber finished yarn can become uneven if dyed afterward, color direction should be confirmed before sampling. For more details, read What Is Brushed Yarn? Process and Sourcing Guide.

Metallic Yarn Sample Request Details
For metallic yarn, Lurex yarn or metallic tube yarn samples, please confirm the base yarn color before sampling. If cotton, acrylic or polyester is used together with metallic yarn, the base yarn is usually dyed or selected first, then combined with gold, silver or colored metallic yarn.
- Target yarn type: Lurex yarn, metallic tape yarn or metallic tube yarn.
- Count and composition, such as acrylic / polyester / Lurex direction.
- Base yarn color reference and metallic color effect.
- End use: sweater, cardigan, scarf, trim or hand knitting yarn ball.
- Whether the yarn must avoid high-temperature treatment after metallic yarn is added.

Tip: for metallic yarn and Lurex yarn, send the metallic color effect and base yarn color first, because base yarn dyeing is normally confirmed before tube yarn or tape yarn production.
