1. Chenille Yarn: Soft and Full Fancy Yarn

Chenille yarn is widely used when the sweater design needs a soft surface and plush hand feel. Cotton chenille yarn, polyester chenille yarn and acrylic chenille yarn can all create different results. Buyers should not choose only by color card. The pile height, yarn count, composition and machine gauge should be checked by knitting sample.

For softer garments, chenille yarn can be useful, but the fabric needs testing for pile shedding, wash performance and final hand feel. A chenille yarn supplier should understand whether the buyer wants a light accessory yarn, a chunky sweater yarn or a more stable fabric yarn.

2. Brushed Yarn: Warm Surface for Sweater Fabrics

3. Tube Yarn and Tape Yarn: Round Structure, Volume and Texture

A normal space dyed style often uses about three color sections, but the color repeat can follow a customer’s color sample or requested cycle.

For normal space dyeing, one style usually needs at least about 100 kg. Smaller quantities can cause higher dyeing loss, so buyers should confirm whether the request is for color approval, fabric testing or bulk development.

How to Choose Between Fancy Yarn Types

When comparing sweater yarn types, start from the fabric target, not the yarn name. Useful questions include:

• What machine gauge will be used: 3GG, 5GG, 7GG or another gauge?
• Does the fabric need softness, shine, volume, warmth or color repeat?
• What is the target yarn count and fabric weight?
• Is the color from Pantone, customer color number, physical swatch or existing color card?
• Will the yarn need stock color, custom dyeing or space dyeing?
• Does the yarn contain metallic thread that should avoid later high-temperature dyeing?

To make sample development faster, send the yarn supplier these details: target count, composition, color reference, sweater gauge, final use, hand feel target, fabric photo or swatch, sample quantity and expected bulk quantity.
